Get A Lift

Honestly, most of the time we are so-so on photography/photographers. Seeing the same high fashion poses, Urban-Outfitters soft focus, and artsy-fartsy set-ups can get so tiring. And don’t even get us started on event photographers. Walking around, with that holier-than-thou heir that says “Oh, you’re here just hanging out? I’m working this event.” And the poses they have to put their bodies in to catch that perfect pic, it can be embarrassing. It all changed when we saw the work of Maia Flore. Her dreamy, technicolor imagery are scenes we could stare at for hours for their sheer beauty. Below, we included some of our favorites from her “Sleep Elevations” series.

Advanced Style

November 24, 2010

I’m loving the concept of this new style site Sicilia Fashion Village. Sort of an on-line reality show, the site chronicles the wherabouts and wardrobes of a group of eccentricly-robed seniors in a little town in Italy. The whole site is in Italian, so don’t expect to be able to actually follow it, but it’s worth checking out strictly for the amazing visuals. It’s refreshing to see people dressing up and following fashion strictly for the love of it and not necessarily to be snapped in a street photo or chronicled on a blog. We can all learn a thing or two from this utterly dapper crew (even if it’s that we unfortunately can’t pull of certain looks until our advanced ages…I’m looking at you, 20-year-old in an ascot). See the intro video below:
